I get the following erroe message after clicking search.
Search companion-Unexpected error-Action could not be completed.
It happens on all folders,files, pictures.and you name it.
The wizard appears and does his act and I have entered the search
formatting.

Hi azspioke,
Try this open a run command and type:
regsvr32 /i shell32.dll click [OK]
Reboot your machine and see if the problem will reproduce itself or will go.
If still no luck try this KB:

Thank you for the help but niether of them did any good.. I will leave the
register with the addition in 816665 because it was missing.
I did not restart XP-SR 2 after adding to the register, the 816665 made no
actions to restart. I also have tried reinstalling Srchasst,inf using
%window%\inf and it did no good.
It did reinstall Searech Companion thou.
