Search companion problems

I have XP Pro installed on my computer. Every time I
attempt to run 'search' to find a file on my system I get
the erroor message 'A file that is required to run search
companion cannot be found. You may need to run setup."
I'm not really sure how to do this. I placed the XP CD
into the CD and let it start. I looked at install
components, but didn't find anything to do with Seatch
companion. Do I have to do a fresh reinstall, and if so,
do I all all the information on my system, including
updates.

Why doesn't Search work?
or you can try:
Click Start, Run, then type in "regsvr32 /i browseui.dll" then press Enter
then type in and "regsvr32 /i shell32" then press Enter
NB type the items without the " ".
