Search Companion not working

Jimmy Jones

I am not able to search a specific network drive with search companion from
my computer. I can search other network drives from this computer and I am
able to edit, delete, add folders and files to the root of this netowrk drive.

If I log into a different computer with the same credentials I can search
this same network drive with out an issue.

Any error message when you try?.
Open a run command and type in:
regsvr32 jscript.dll click [OK]
regsvr32 srchui.dll click [OK]
Reboot your machine and see if the Search engine will work okay.

If it doesn't then try to locate this file:
Srchasst.inf located here:
C:\Windows\Inf = look in the right pane/windows and see the file and right
click it you will get a list of options one of them Install please select
this to install the file and reboot your machine, does it help?.

This did not solve the problem and the registry key mentioned in the MS KB
were already there.
