search Companion blank

Search Companion is coming up blank. I have tried repairing by using info in
KB831430 and reinstalling srchasst.inf to no avail. I have not been able to
find any other solutions to this problem. This problem has persisted for
quite some time and I am just now getting around to fixing it. Not sure
really when it began happening, probably after some update.

Problem solved. Had to reregister srchui.dll.

regsvr32 %windir%\srchasst\srchui.dll
