SDI file size

Hello

Is it possible to reduce the file size of an SDI? I use the SDImgr /readpart
(and /writepart to restore) command to import a whole partition into a SDI.
The size of the partition is 8 GB (about 1 GB is used, rest is free). So i
get a 8 GB SDI file and this large file is quite difficult to deploy onto a
DVD.
It would be fine if there is a possibility to reduce the size...

I can create a SDI with the SDI Loader (example: 2 GB) and import all files
from the 8 GB partition. When i export the SDI to another disk (sdimgr
/writedisk) the 2 GB partition will be created.

Unfortunately SDI doesn't provide a way to compress the file or eliminate
the unused space. Best way is use a smaller partition (virtual partition
through SDI Loader or a real hard drive partition) when capturing it with
SDI.
