SD card readers all crapped out after Windows security upgrade yesterday

Anyone else having problems reading SD chips in USB card readers since MS
updates yesterday or today? Two computers at work, one at home all will not
read a variety of SD chips. The only event common to all computers is
downloading security upgrades to Office, Outlook express, XP, etc.- about
5-6 things yesterday.

Our corporate IT guy has also seen this problem reading SD cards- he thought
it was a USB port problem until I told him about my experience. we have
found nothing on the web about this problem. No MS updates yet to date have
'undone' this problem.
