scrolling with mouse

When I try to scroll down a page in Word with the mouse wheel, the page goes
sideways not up and down. This is just a recent change and I have not
changed any settings. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem please.

The first thing I'd suggest is that you check into your Mouse Properties
settings in the Windows Control Panel. There is most likely a setting for
horizontal scrolling or perhaps the driver needs to be updated/reinstalled.

I have a user who, like yourself, cannot use the scroll wheel in Office Word
2003 Small Business ED to scroll, yet Excel works OK. I can remote to her PC
and my mouse scrolls OK. She does NOT use Visual basic--I know there is a fix
for that issue.

Hope someone finds the resolution to this one.
