scrolling using a mouse

For whatever reason, I am unable to scroll vertically with the wheel on my
mouse. I have recently started an Adobe 7.0 lesson that uses Word in the
lesson plans. I don't know if I clicked something off, but I have to use the
"up" and "down" keys on my keyboard to scroll the length of the page. Help.
 
Check the properties of "Mouse" under "Control Panel"? And does it still
work in a Word application when it is opened by itself, it may be that it
just won't work in that particular application. Also, did you try a reboot?
