Scrolling Text

Why is it that, when I open my word document, the scrolling text shows up in design mode? Is there a way I can open the document and have the scrolling text just scrolling? Instead of having to exit design mode every time?

I'm not sure what you mean by "scrolling text"? Do mean the body of the document (the "page")?

If you look in Tools/Macro/Security, what's the security setting? And which version of Word do you have?

Is this happening with all documents, or just certain ones?

If the document you're opening or the template it's attached to contains macros and if you
see the "Enable macros" prompt and say No. Then the document tends to open in design
mode.
