Hi there,
I use XP Pro. Whenever I scroll with the mouse in a 30...40 pages Word
2000 document containign tables it refreshes the screen very slowly,
same line appears repeated on the entire page until it refreshes
eventually in 30 seconds or so.
I updated video drivers to the latest, I have a fast computer.
What should I check? Thanks, T

Try Ctrl+Alt+Delete to select Task Manager and click the Performance
Tab. Under Commit Charge what is the Total, the Limit and the Peak?

How large is your hard disk and how much free space. Right click on
your C drive in Windows and select Properties to get this information.

What is your CPU processor speed? How much RAM memory? Right click on
your My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties to get
this information.

Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk CleanUp to
Empty your Recycle Bin and Remove Temporary Internet Files. Also
select Start, All Programs, accessories, System Tools, Disk CleanUp,
More Options, System Restore and remove all but the latest System
Restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter. Follow this procedure for each
partition in turn.

Hope this helps.

Hi there,
I have P4 3 Ghz processor, 512 MB memory, 256 MB video card, XP Pro,
74 GB drive, 64 GB free.
Memory Commit Charge:
Total 313684
Limit 1256812
Peak 335304

I lowered refresh rate from 75 Hz to 60 herts, same.
Also cleaned up all temp files, internet, disk cleanup, no need for
defrag I got a message, hard drive almost empty, same error. CPU/
stays pretty low.
I am using Word 2000 maybe it is something to do with Word, I
reinstalled it already.
Anything else I could try?
Thanks a lot, T

Are these pdf files? Are you using Adobe Acrobat Reader? Foxit is
better!

When you say this tables are 'imported' are they linked live to
another program? So when Word wants to display them it has to refer
to another application? Or are they free-standing images cut and
pasted into Word? If it was the former I'd expect major slowdown.
Especially if the 'etabs' your refer to is anything to do with a SAP
application.

Hi there,
The tables are created with an application and they are in a text file
we open with Wordpad and next we copy and paste them into Word.
Thanks, T
