Scrolling in Excel

Is there a way to take an excel spreadsheet workbook, split it, and then be
able to do synchronous scrolling on the split windows? I'm trying to do this
without copying the data into a new worksheet.

From the menu:

Window>Split

Position the cursor where you want the split before issuing the command

Try <Window><new window>
you get two views of the same workbook that you can work with independantly.
What you change in one you change in the other, and you can delete one
without it doing anything to the other.
Note if you save with the extra window showing it will be there when you
reopen the file
