Scroll Speed too fast when Highling multiple pages

R

Roy

I am using Word 2000.
When highlighting and selecting mutiple pages of text to be copied, the
scroll speed is far to fast, preventing only small areas to be selected. When
trying to select 2 pages, the speed is so fast, it selects the complete
document.

Click at one end of the desired selection. Drag the thumb button on the
vertical scroll bar to bring the other end in view and Shift+Click there.

Thanks for your reply!
This is what I have been doing - But, When I select a line at the top of one
page highlight across to the other side, then downtoward the bottom
everything works fine until I reach the bottom. As it goes to the 2nd page
it zips out of control and often to the end of the document. I cannot
highlight more that 1 page at a time. I wish to slow it down to highligh more
than 1 page.

Thanks again!

Roy

Read again. You are not supposed to be selecting as you scroll. You just
click at the beginning of the desired selection, scroll down till you can
see the end, and then Shift+click there. Be sure you use only the thumb
(elevator) on the scroll bar; don't click in the scroll bar or use the up or
down buttons, as those move the insertion point, which you don't want.

Place your cursor at the beginning of the area to be selected. Let go
of the mouse. Now move the cursor over to the scroll bar and navigate
so that the end of the area is visible. Shift-click where you want the
selection to end.
