Several sources, including a Microsoft Nov. chat session,
confirmed that with the Oct IE 6 SP1 patch, came a bug
which causes malfunction of scrollbars in textareas. As a
user of third party sites which offer textarea editing
capabilities, is there something I can do on my computer
to correct this malfunction or does my service provider
need to reprogram their code to correct the problem or
will Microsoft be issuing a fix?

Work arounds:
Click immediately under the slider.
Drag the slider.
Use the mouse wheel.
Use the Page Down and Page Up keys.
