Using a new Gateway T-1610 with Windows Vista. Have never used Vista before.
Don't know if this is a Gateway question or Windows, but thought I'd try
here. As I move the pointer around using the touchpad, a little icon that
looks like a very small scrollbar (about 1/4") pops up and disappears
constantly. I can't figure out what it does or how to use it. Can't find a
refernce to it in the Gateway PDF user guide (probably because I don't know
what it's called). Can anyone help? Silly question, I know. Thanks!

Hi,

The right side of your touchpad may be a scroll control. Usually there is a
line there to indicate it. When in a window where you can scroll, this part
of the pad may be used to do that by just dragging your finger up or down.

Yes, the touchpad has a scrolling area on one side. This icon appears
(sometimes) when I use it, and sometimes when I'm just using the main
touchpad area. Anyway, it's probably a Gateway setting.

Thanks for taking the time to try to help!
