Script errors in IE6

I haven't had time to run all of my anti-spyware/anti-virus programs in Safe
Mode. I did run Ad-Aware and Spybot and one of them found Alexa in my
registry keys ( I think this is correct). I read the information about it
and did NOT delete it, but maybe I should have. I wasn't sure how safe it
is to delete things in safe mode, but I am willing to learn. I have been
busy with some other things so haven't had the time to spend working with
the computer. Neither program found Adware.Gator and I even used Windows
Explorer with hidden files showing and system files showing and I did not
see HDPlugin1019.dll as Norton specified.

I did receive the SP2 CD in the mail today (in less than a week!). I am
wondering if I should just back up my data and use my HP System Recovery to
go back to factory setup and start all over again. I don't know if that
would get rid of Adware.Gator and help solve the script errors that I have
been receiving. Now that I have SP2 available on CD I would be much more
likely to consider the system recovery option.

Don Varnau had suggested that I disable programs in my startup that might be
interfering with IE, but I am not sure which programs would be most likely
to interfere. If you have any suggestions on what types of programs to try
disabling, I might be able to try that.

Thanks again for your help.
