when surffing the net I continually get "script error" messages...especially on food network and other pages that I am inquiring information from. I am asked if I want to continue to run this page and it really doesn't matter if I put yes or no the page continues to appear and I can not browse the site at all. I have no idea on how to stop this. Please help, this is really starting to get anoying! Thanks so very much for your time!

You need to disable script debugging. Go to Tools > Options > Advanced.
Check "Disable script debugging" and uncheck "Display a notif about every
script error"

That will fix the notification of a script error as a modal box but it will do nothing to get IE to work on those pages. Best bet would be to give a link to one of those pages so we can determine if it is the page or not.
