Script error in Instant Support Automatic Update

I have spent many hours (days) with HP Technical people
and searching Microsoft and Internet Explorer trying to
fix Help & Support. When I start H&S, a get an Internet
Explorer window saying: Downloading Update ...this may
take a few seconds/minutes. I looked at helpctr.log and
get this scripting error message:

PS: I have downloaded all updates from HP and Microsoft
including service pack 2. (I got the script error before
and after SP2.

I am at my wits end.
