Script error and repairing windows

Can somebody help me please? For the past few weeks each time i play pool in
yahoo messenger i keep getting script errors. My internet explorer is set to
not receive errors but its not working.
I understand that if there is a missing or corrupt file on my comp then this
could cause the errors and i could try to repair windows.

Firstly is repairing windows the only option?
Secondly if i just want to repair windows will i lose everything i have on
my computer?
Are there any other alternatives?
Is repairing the same as re-installing windows?

Thank you for your help

Hard to say. Contact the program/service tech support for help.

A repair install, aka in place upgrade, should retain programs and data.
However there is no guarantee. Always, always have a full and
complete backup of essential information. Data loss is an issue of when
not if. Consider using a drive imaging program to image the drive to an
external drive or DVD.

Those terms can mean the same thing. But re-install can be either a
repair install or a clean install.
