Screensavers - "my pictures"

I have set up a screensaver with some pictures. The screensaver is working
fine. But I want to "refine" it. All of the pictures have a white
background. Is there a way to change the background of the screensaver in
general from black to white so that the pictures appear to be just one whole
picture rather than a white picture on a black background?

Have you tried changing the picture display settings? Try this:

Click on the Desktop>Properties>Screen Saver. When the dialog box opens,
click on the "Settings" button. Make sure the box that says "Stretch Small
Pictures" has a checkmark in it. That will cause the screensaver to stretch
smaller photos so they will occupy the entire monitor screen.

The only drawback to this is that if the photo is a smaller size (for
example 3 x 5), it will have that "digital pixels" look to it. I'm sure that
most of your photos will work just fine...

Good Luck!
