Screensaver

What does this mean (message below from R.Vernon) ? Seems any screensaver I
choose to change the "C:/windows/system32/logon.scr" screesaver says I need
DirectX... How do I get that? I'm interested in using the photos screensaver
but that isn't working, is that because of the directx? can't use bubbles
either...

Addendum to my previous message.

The screen saver you select has to be a standard screen saver. If it is
OpenGL or one that requires DirectX, these will not work because at the
login screen, these components have not been initialized yet.

You have to have video card or certain amount of onboard memory with DirectX
9 support for that screensaver to work.

A video card with 128 MBs of video memory which supports pixel shader 2.0 to
get the Photo Screensaver.
1 GB of dual channel memory with 512 dedicated to system. More would be
recommended if its shared memory.

DirectX the rendering technology that handles all the graphics technology in
the system for presenting the desktop and effects. Its an industry standard
used in games for Windows.
