Screensaver Slideshow

I'm using the 'Slideshow' option as my screensaver and
I've saved about 100 personal photos to do so. It's
working fine but the photos are shown in a random order.
I'd like to have the photos displayed in a specified order
so I tried grouping the photos in individual folders but
this didn't work, they still were displayed randomly on
the screen. Under Settings for Screensaver there is no
option for the order in which photos are displayed.

Hi Deb,

In short, no there isn't. There are no parameters you may set beyond those
available in the display settings.

Try this from John Walker's superb site:

I haven't had time to check it on XP yet :(

Hi Deb, John Walker's Windows slideshow screensaver has been out for a
while, and was updated in Febrary 2003:

It gives an option to play music with your slideshow if you like that.
You can order your photos by giving them a - z fileames. But there are
no cool transition effects between pictures :(

I'm a newbie to the newsgroups and I hope I'm addressing this question to
the proper group!

I downloaded and installed TimerShot.exe (a webcam tool from PowerToys)
and I am unable to select my webcam under the {Device} selection. My web
cam is a Creative Webcam Pro and I am using WinXP Pro. I should add that
the webcam works perfectly otherwise. Can you help?

Hi, I'm a newbie too. I tried a google groups search for "creative
webcam" together with 'timershot' and it seems that this question has
been asked a few times - but I din't find a solution :((

Sometimes a register entry is needed as a 'hook' from one piece of
software to another to enable the two to link up automatically. If this
is the reason for the problem it's not too difficult to put the key in
the registry by hand. But you need to know the correct key, and enter it
exactly right

I'm sure someone in these forums will know the answer to this, but you
might need to ask a few times - like I did when I first posted with a
problem a few days ago.

Best of luck
