Screensaver on external monitor not working

I bought a new Dell Inspiron with Vista Home Premium recently. I got it all
set up with my screensaver and a slide show of my photos and it worked fine
on the laptop display. I have since attached a new external monitor to the
laptop and the screensaver never comes on. I've gotten into all of the
conceivable setting for this but don't seem to be able to make it work. What
settings do I need to change to get my screensaver slide show to work on my
external monitor?

Not coming on at all? or coming on and only showing on the primary
screen?

Not all of the built in screen savers support dual screens (!).

If its not coming on at all, have you by any chance got a microsoft
wireless mouse? If so, run a windows update and grab the update to its
driver, there is a bug there that the mouse reciever stops a screen
saver from starting..

AT the same time I installed the monitor, I also installed the new wireless
mouse and keyboard. Logic told me it had to do with my monitor. Logic does
not apply to computers....

I'd buy you a 6-pack if I could.

Rarely does. Just be glad they finally fixed this issue, for 3 months
of beta, and 3 weeks of actual RETAIL product, I had no screen saver
because I refused to give up my MS Laser 6000

I am new at this..first time..But I have set up my slide show in pictures....
... shows in preview of screensaver ..I set for one minute to test..never
comes on.. so ..I am basically lost and at witts end Surely this is not a
wireless mouse problem..
