screensaver freeze

screensaver won't release unless I hit control alternate,delete,then cancel
task manager
 
I had the same problem when I upgraded from XP instead of doing a clean
install. I got around it by changing the display settings to 16 bit rather
than 32 bit. Of course that prevents Aero from working properly.
