This issue was resolved by MS themselves a while ago. Take a look at the
article below, download the HID update from Windows Update and consider
installing the IntelliPoint software/drivers as well, if you have not
already done so.

Microsoft support article:

Download IntelliPoint:

It may not be installed on your computer, it comes with the third-party DVD
software mentioned in the article. Anyway, just installing the HID update as
recommended, will most likely solve the problem.

Hi Installed the HID update the screensaver works fine, but when I don't set
my screensaver my screen goes black? Was wondering why that happens.

Somewhere on the screensaver page is the power-saving button. Well, it's
not really a button, it's a line of text saying "Change power settings...".

On that screen are three radio buttons (in my case, anyway) with several
plans. Click on "Change plan settings" for the active one and set "Turn off
display" to "Never". Or change which plan is active (be sure to look inside
to see what the settings are!).

Thanks for the reply but I never changed the power settings? Why would it go
black on it's own?

I didn't say you changed them, I said look at what they are and fix them.

I know you didn't say that but why would I have to change them if they where
never changed I never had a black screen I don't understand ...
