Although you can get rudimentary screen shots in Windows using PrintScreen
and Alt+PrintScreen (which capture the entire screen and the active window,
respectively, and copy them to the Clipboard) and then paste them into Word,
if you're going to be doing screen captures a good bit, you will definitely
want to have dedicated software that provides more flexibility (such as
allowing you to save your screen shot in any of a number of graphics file
formats or marking up and annotating the screen shot with arrows, circles,
highlighting, labels, etc.). I highly recommend SnagIt from TechSmith
(
www.techsmith.com). You can download a free trial version, but I think
you'll find it well worth the retail price.
