Screen Size

My son downloaded a game, played it and then uninstalled it, which he has
done for some years, this time after it had been uninstalled the screen has a
black band on both sides and along the bottom. This has happened in the past
but if you closed and then restarted the pc it has always righted itself.
Not this time. I have tried everything I can think of, contacted ATI and
downloaded what they told me to, but I'm still stuck with a 1 inch band on
three sides. Now I'm not very technical so can any suggestions be simple to
do.

Check the monitor itself. There should be buttons to adjust height and width
of the screen image.

Thankyou, I've managed to get rid of the band at the bottom and made the side
ones narrower, they're still curved, but I can live with that. I've had this
computer six years and never knew what that button was for. Thanks again for
your help.

There should also be an adjustment for curved sides if it is a CRT.
