screen size is small dell notebook

normally my screen is the entire width of the monitor,
last night i closed my notebook upo for the night and
when I came back the screen was actually less then half
of the monitor size, if i change the resolution from
800x600 to like over 1280x1024 it makes the screen almost
the same size as my monitor but the words are way too
small to read now, can anyone help me out.. im on a dell
inspiron 8000 notebook, thanks
 
This a question about Dell hardware, Dell has on-line and
telephone support. That would be your best source.
