The short cut to take a screen shot is " alt+prt sc " correct ?.. and at
least thats what i used to do when it worked. But now for some reason it
doesn't work..

i was thinking maybe it was working but some how the destination folder for
the screen shot jpeg may have changed and it was a case of me simply not
being able to find them ..... i thought screen shot jpegs went into my
picture in my documents?

SO, is it possible that the destination folder has changed? or is it more
likely that the command simply isn't working? if so how can i make it work
again?

if someone could help that would be superb.. need to take some shots of my
screen urgently!!

You might want to look into this - It's called Screen Hunter and it's
freeware at this site :

You can capture the whole screen or just a section - it's just 2 clicks and
you're done and it downloads to
it's own folder that you create and so it's easy to find - please post if
you need instructions on use - it's a
great product - I'd be lost without it -

I love you Brenda ;) :D

Well, glad to help - does this mean you have installed it and tried it
already? I think it's the best little tool ever.

its installed and working... perfect for taking pics of websites for my
portfolio.. only thing id say to make it better would be for it to shoot a
higher res image but otherwise its pretty much prefect

are you saving your screen shot as a jpg gif or bmp - I find that If I save
to a gif it's pretty good then I can bring
it into my pictureit program and sharpen it up if necessary -

You, and you alone, determine any destination folder when you save
files containing screen shots.

Pressing the <PrtScn> key copies the entire display to the
clipboard. Pressing <ALT>+<PrtScn> copies only the active Window to
the clipboard (iow, into RAM). To view the screen capture, open a
graphics program, such as MS Paint, and press <CTRL>+V. This will
paste the contents of the clipboard (your screenshot) into the open
file, and allow you to view it or save it as a file for later use.

by the way your solution worked spot on (ctrl+v) cheers dude

No, the Clipboard isn't a "folder;" it exists only in RAM.
