HELP! Problems using XP Prt Sc button in full Screen DOS

I have a full screen DOS charting package. All previous windows OS have
supported the Prt Sc button--putting the image into clipboard, and then I
would paste it into paint for further editing. That does NOT seem to work
with XP. If I hit Prt Sc while my laptop is in full screen DOS mode, then go
to paste it in paint, nothing gets pasted--and there is nothing in the
clipboard?? I have tried Alt Prt Sc, ctrl Prt Sc, fn Prt Sc, alt/ctrl/prt
sc, and I've looked online for help, and have come up empty. Several of the
"Screen Print" software packages even tell you they won't capture full Screen
DOS on XP? I tried screen thief 2.0, no workie.... Does anyone know of a
workaround, or of a software package that WILL work with a full screen DOS
app on XP?

Alt-Enter normally puts full screen DOS apps into a window if that helps.
