I know its probably simple,however.....

I've just had to install Windows XP again as the original one crashed and I
can't get it back.

The new one has really slow srolling speed. Basically when scrolling down
with the arrows on the side of the window or the arrow keys its very jerky.

How can I make it smooth the way it use to be?

After you install an operating system, you also need to install drivers
for its hardware. You need to install your video card drivers, and
possibly others. Get drivers from:

1. The card mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM
computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the
drivers.

If you are unsure what hardware you have in your computer, use a free
system inventory program like Everest or Belarc Advisor:
