Screen Scrape from game client

I wish to read a value from a game client using API's. How can I do so if
the API is not public? Has anyone had any experience in screen scraping?

Presumably, you are wanting to write a "macro" or some other kind of exploit
tool for an MMORPG?

No, not an RPG, i want to read the point status that is displayed as an
integer from a game client. Would you know how to do that?
