Hello all,
I installed the clear screen saver and Win 2k does not
kmeep the setting for it. When I look at the screen saver
screen none is displayed. I do click on apply and I have
selected the screen saver several time but is never keeps
the setting. THis is very frustrating :(
Can anyone offer a fix?

Windows 2000 Server SP4 (also happens to a NT4 server sp6)

THanks in advance, Terry

Hi

Have you done the following instructions (from
http://www.jsiinc.com/SUBH/TIP3500/rh3524.htm):

Log on to an account with Administrative permissions.
Copy Clearsaversvc.exe and Clear Screen Saver.scr into your system folder (for
example, C:\WINNT\system32).
Type the following command at the command line to install and start the
ClearSaverSvc service:
InstallPath\clearsaversvc.exe -i

InstallPath is the path for your system directory.

After the install, you need to select "Clear Screen Saver" in the Display
Properties to enable it.

Then, reboot the computer.

Thank you for the reply.

I did install it that way :(
InstallPath\clearsaversvc.exe -i

So, to be on the safe side I uninstalled the screen saver
InstallPath\clearsaversvc.exe -r
and re-installed it.
It will NOT stay set. I rebooted after setting it and
it's gone (not set) when the computer is back up.

The computer is a new fresh install of Win 2000 Server.
Is there a Registry setting I can try to force it?

Again, Thanks for you time & help in advance, Terry

Just noticed, the computer doesn't hold ANY screen saver.
I tried sever WIn 2000 screen savers and None of them
will stay set after a re-boot or after are avtivated once.

Very odd.

Thanks,
Terry
