Screen saver won't stay on, shuts off for no apparent reason?

About two weeks ago my screen saver started shutting off for no apparent
reason, it even jumps out of stand-by mode with out any external contact. My
computer is only 6 months old and nothing new has been installed recently
before this problem began. I don't even know where to start trouble
shooting this problem, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Oh, what the heck? I have an idea... Disable your screen saver for a while.
Sit there, don't touch anything. Watch your curser. Does it start to move
after a while? Is there anything that's making either your keyboard or your
mouse move enough to bring it out of standby or to stop the screen saver? I
have no idea what's doing this to your PC but you wanted to know where to
begin with the trouble shooting and that's where I'd start as that's the
only reason I've seen this sort of behavior in the past. I'd disable it and
watch for the curser to move randomly on it's own. If that's the case it can
often be fixed by updating the mouse drivers or sometimes even just finding
a setting in the mouse properties and changing it and changing it back. Odd?
Yes but that's the only time I've ever seen this happen before but your case
may be different. As an interesting aside the curser always seems to move up
and to the left... That's just an observation from what I've seen but,
again, your problem might be entirely different. Check that though.
