screen saver while playing media

i have an HP laptop with the vista installed in it and here's my prob:
the screen saver still appears when i play media[using WMP,media center and
quickplay].i unchecked the option box in WMP that allowes this to happen,and
the best answer the good people in HP could give me is " when
working with WMP and quickplay, I recommed you to temporarily Disable
the Screen Saver."
can anyone think of a better answer?

No--that's the only way. Put a shortcut to the screensaver on the desktop and
use it instead of automatic screensaver.
 
who do i do that?and do you know if it's a problem with vista?cause i have XP
