Media Center won't launch using the remote control... Please Help

The problem I'm having is the remote control will not launch Media Center with the green button
(the one that came with my laptop and is stored in a slot at the side of the laptop). The remote
does work for everything else, QuickPlay, etc and will work with all the commands once Media Center
is running.

I installed MCE Customizer and was playing with some of the settings and this has caused the problem
(it work before this time). I uninstalled MCE Customizer, however, Media Center still won't launch
from the remote control.

Thank you for any help.

Cheers
Paul

May be a physically faulty button.

nope, the button works because the computer gives a led signal that it is receiving, also my iPAQ
PDA has Novi Remote programmed and sends the signal, again the computer says it sees it but doesn't
know what to do with it.

You may need to check your startup programs. The remote I use here gets its
green button functionality via a startup program that runs in the background
and makes sense of the signals. Perhaps there's a similar one for your setup
that's somehow become disabled.

Start > msconfig > Startup
Start > msconfig > Services (+Hide all Microsoft Services)

Its necessary reinstall HP QUICK LAUNCH BUTTONS from

After reboot will works.

Because:

1. You didn't post to the original thread.
2. You didn't quote any of the original thread to which you are presumably
replying
3. You are using a web interface that leeches Usenet newsgroup posts, *not*
a forum.

No one knows what you are talking about. Most people access Usenet with a
newsreader so we do not see the same thing you do. Consider using a
newsreader instead (very easy to set up). More information:

What you see is not really a forum, just a web interface. You will get far
more out of this resource if you learn to use a newsreader. There are many
good newsreaders for Windows, but you can use Outlook Express (XP) or
Windows Mail (Vista) since you already have it. Here are some links to
