Screen saver reboots laptop

I have a Compaq laptop that when the 3d text screen saver
is on and I move the mouse or a keyboard key to get out of
screen saver the computer restarts. I have tried all
available driver updates from Compaq and Microsoft to no
avail. Computer is brand new, right out of the box.
All other screen savers work fine. Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks

I'd say Compaq owes you a new computer.
However, I suspect that the file "ssmarque.scr" is corrupted.
You will find this file in the System32 folder under windows.
You might try to extract another copy from the I386 folder.
