Screen Saver & HIbernate don't work on New Computer with XP

I have turned the screen saver on & set up for hibernate later, but nothing
happens. Is there a way to acheive this?

After you make the changes in "Display Properties" you must click "Apply" or
it won't make the changes.
 
You will need to figure out what software or hardware is keeping the
computer busy. File Indexing? Virus scanning? Malware infection? Noisy
mouse attached?
