Screen Saver has stopped working

What are the possible causes of this, and how can I go about fixing it?

My Screen Saver has stopped working. There is no more information to
provide. It worked fine for several months, and it no longer works at
all. It is the Starfield screen saver, and is set to invoke after one
minute. It was previously set for ten minutes. When I chnaged from ten
minutes to one minute, it worked the first time, and then stopped
working. I can set it to ten minutes again, and then back to one
minute, and it will again work the first time and then stop working.
