Screen Saver Deactivation

The screen saver ( it doesn't seem to matter which one)
that I choose, either fails to activate after the set
time, or deactivates by itself at some point and reverts
back to the desktop. There is no set time for this to
happen; it seems to be erratic.

It seems that if I set the screen saver to begin after
one minute, (which I have done just to verify that the
screen saver is actually operating), there is a greater
likelihood that the screen saver actually deploys, but it
still deactivates of its own accord after some point.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, how was
it corrected?

Noisey wireless mouse or keyboard? Motion of table shaking mouse? It's a
local issue.
