The size of objects on screen of Thinkpad G40 ois smaller
than before even thpough screen is larger. e.g freecell
is so small I can not see it easily

Your screen is running at a higher resolution. It sounds like you have a 15"
screen running at 1400x1050 resolution.

You have a couple of options, but none are perfect:
- you can lower your screen resolution to something like 1024x768. You can
do this by going to Display Properties \ Settings tab. However, depending on
your graphics chip, this will either cause your screen to look kind of
fuzzy, or will cause the screen to simply have less screen real estate (but
with a large black border).

- you can change the DPI setting by going to Display Properties \ Settings
tab \ Advanced button. However, this usually affects only text - and even
then, it is not perfect (some programs will not use the higher DPI setting).

It is for this reason that some people stay away from laptops with high
resolution screens.
