Screen /mouse problem

For some reason lately my screen intermittently goes crazy with the display
in IE6 scrolling up and down fast and nothing I can do will stop it -
happens once/twice daily.

Any one seen this and have an idea how to fix it?

On a more general point, XP seems to be getting flaky of late (can't change
user without it crashing, can't reboot from the Start button etc) and the
rate of fragging on the HDD is increasing. It's all up-to-date with Windows
Update and it's virus free FWIW but it's falling well below the performance
I've grown used to with XP - any general concerns in the XP world at the
moment that may have a bearing (like a faulty WinUpdate file)?

Probably this is hardware-related. Try a different keyboard and see if
that helps. If it doesn't, please post back.
