screen lighting

my screen in dark. I can see the desktop icons but barely. I have rebooted
several times. I have presses fn and F8 which is the light brighener. I
have also pressed fn F1 which has the light bulb on it. Is my fn key broken?
What else can I do?

Hi, the controls for the monitor Brightness/Contrast are, I believe, usually
on the front of the Monitor...Ric
