Intermittently my monitor screen gets the jitters. All the text or video
will start jumping up and down rapidly. Changing to another application
does not clear the problem. It seems the only recourse is to reboot the
computer. It doesn't happen often, but is there way to clear this
malfunction without rebooting? I am using WindowsXP with an AMD cpu and a
gForce3 video card.
Regards,

This is a hardware issue that has nothing to do with Windows XP. Make
sure the data cable is secure at the computer. Try a different monitor.

Last year I had a monitor that did that. Then after exhibiting that
behavior for a few months it started to shrink the horizontal and
vertical size of the screen image *and* shake/flicker.

Your monitor may very well be failing. If the other solutions don't
work (i.e. checking connections, reseating the video card) you can
1. send it for repair but since that will not be worth the money
2. get a new monitor.

Also, check to be sure you don't have your speaker subwoofer set too
close to the monitor. That will cause shaking and jiggling for sure.

NO. I like my subwoofer that close. I have a pic of my favorite well
endowed female rocker set as wallpaper. She's wearing a tight shirt.

The subwoofer animates.
