Hi -

I'm on Windows XP Pro SP1 with an ATI Radeon 7000 video card and am having
some problems. About once a week while I'm working my screen with get
blurry or fuzzy to where I can barely read anyting on the screen anymore.
The only way to get the screen back to normal is to reboot my computer.
Once I reboot it the screen will be fine until this happens again. As I
said earlier, this happens about once a week, but sometimes it won't happen
for several weeks, while other times it may happen 2 or 3 times in the same
week. I have updated my display card drivers to the latest I could find but
that didn't seem to help. Has anyone experienced an issue like this before
or have any ideas to correct the problem? Does it sound like only a video
card driver problem?

Thanks for any help,
Jeff

To me it sound like a hardware problem.

Something in your monitor og video card gets too hot or something like that,
and the reboot is time enough for the device to cool down.

I concur it is almost certainly hardware.

Next time it happens, try turning off the monitor only for about 10 seconds
and then turning it back on. If it clears up after that, it's your monitor
that's the problem. Otherwise, it's likely the video card.

Don't know if it's related, but I get jagged edges and occasional blurry
images using my radeon 9600pro with my samsung 213t lcd via analog. The funny
thing is; I switch via kvm to my other computer who runs a nvidia geforce
5700fx - with no jagged lines or anything blurry...

All new drivers for both graphic cards and monitor. Same resolution, same
frequency...

Any ideas, folks?
