Screen Flickers

When my computer starts I can't read the screen until Windows XP fully loads. I get the same type of screen problem if I try to play a video game. I can hear the sounds and keys works but I can't see the screen becuase of the flicker. Any ideas?

Refresh rate may have reset to default (60 on most monitors) . Reset to 75
or 85 in Display Properties / Monitor. Jym
