screen flickering

I just bought a gateway with Vista. The screen flickers at different times.
The picture on my desktop backround flickers and 75% of most internet sites
I visit cause me the same problem. I have tried changing the resolution,
changing the screen refresh rate, changing from 75 hertz all the way down to
60. I've followed all of the directions when troubleshooting. I am
frustrated. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.....thanks!

Some programs run very slowly or not at all unless Microsoft DirectDraw or
Direct3D hardware acceleration is available. Click the Display tab, and then
under DirectX Features, check to see whether DirectDraw, Direct3D, or AGP
Texture acceleration is marked Not Available. If so, you might consider
upgrading your hardware. You might also need to turn on graphics
acceleration.

To turn on graphics acceleration
Click to open Display.

Click Display Settings, and then click Advanced Settings.

Click the Troubleshoot tab, and then click Change Settings. If you are
prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or
provide confirmation.

Move the Hardware Acceleration slider to Full.

Did you try this?

- Click on the Start button (pearl? ball? orb?).
- Type "Task Scheduler" and hit Enter.
- On the left-hand side, click "Task Scheduler Local" (you should
already be there, but just in case).
- Expand "Task Scheduler Library," then "Microsoft," then "Windows,"
then click "MobilePC."
- Up top, you'll see a task called "TMM." Click it, and on the
right-hand side, click "Disable."

I've tried this and it still didn't work. Screen is flickering as usual.
Think I should call the company? It did it when I first bought the computer
about a month ago but it seems to be doing it a bit more lately.
Thanks again for trying to help!
