Screen Flicker

Well I've tried changing the refresh rate on my monitor to help with screen
flicker. I can only set it to 60 mhz. What's interesting is when I first
boot up, I don't experience the screen flicker but within 30-60 secs, my
screen goes black and comes back. After this happens, I experience the
screen flickering.

I have a Dell 2405FPW monitor with a NVIDIA Quadro FX Go700 video card.

Hey Bill,

Yeah... I downloaded the beta drivers and installed them but the install
errored out. I said it couldn't find a "compatible" video card for the
driver setup (wierd).

Also, my monitor says it's "generic." I've tried to locate a beta driver for
it but can't find one.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Yosh

Yoshi,

Sounds like that may be the issue there. If the drivers can't ID your video
card, you may have other issues!

Sorry I did not see the original post.
So in response to original poster, try changing the monitor refresh rate in
the settings.

Unfortunately, it provides only one setting of 60.

It has identified my monitor as "Generic" so that might be the problem. I am
hoping that a monitor driver will be released soon.

LCD monitors are not prone to screen flicker, and 60Hz is the norm - and
usually the only.

There may be a problem with the video card, or with the drivers in
Vista. Don't expect final drivers until the O/S is released. Check the
card or chip manufacturer's WEBsite for the latest info.
