screen flickering problem

Using windowsxp I have the following problem. After starting "Explorer"
and chossing on a map the screen start to flicker. It stops only when
quitting Explorer. Explorer is the only program that has this effect.
Any idea of possible causes and how to correct this problem?

Sounds like you have a mapped drive that is getting updated so Explorer
is keeping in sync. I'm not on a network right now but I recall you can
configure to NOT reconnect to the mapped drive (there should be a
"Reconnect at logon" check box). Since it sounds like you get the
flicker when Explorer connects to the mapped drive, well, that's because
it is getting updated a lot. When you are done using the mapped drive,
you can disconnect from it (Tools -> Disconnect) to eliminate any
further flicker when you aren't using the mapped drive.
