Screen capture to a file?

W

Walter_Slipperman

I am using Vista Home Premium 64. I often do Alt+Prntscreen to capture the
screen to the clipboard. Then I open an app like Photoshop and paste the
clipboard and then do a Saveas to jpg or bmp.

I know there are little apps that enhance clipboard funtionality and do
this. Can somebody recommend a free one that doesn't have spyware and is
relatively clean?

Thanks,
Walter

I use Wisdom-Soft's Screen Hunter 5 free version available from
http://www.wisdom-soft.com/sh/index.htm It can be set to capture to
auto-incrementing file name in the location you specify using either the
full screen, active window or user selectable size. Can be activated by
preselected hot key (I have mine set for just the PrintScreen key.) I have
been using it for a number of years since it was version 3. I only know of
one Vista issue but I also don't use Vista 64. The Vista issue is if you
are also attempting to capture the mouse cursor and you are using the user
selectable size. The mouse cursor disappears. Wisdom-Soft is working on
that issue but is has never affected me.

I'm thinking you already have the tool
you need included in Vista.
