How do I capture a screen image in W/XP?
In 95,98 & NT you could ALT and PRINT SCREEN, then open
up word or notepad and paste the image. This doesn't
seem to work in XP.

I've been able to get it to work in wordpad and paint, but
now notepad.

It works, just not with notepad. You should be able to paste into Word,
even Excel for that matter and like the others have said WordPad and Paint
should work also.

It doesn't work with Notepad on mine either, but does with Wordpad and the
others.

Greetings --

Pressing the <PrtScn> key copies the entire display to the
clipboard. Pressing <ALT>+<PrtScn> copies only the active Window to
the clipboard. To view the screen capture, open a graphics program,
such as MS Paint, and press <CTRL>+V. This will paste the contents of
the clipboard (your screenshot) into the open file, and allow you to
view it or save it as a file for later use.

Greetings --

Notepad isn't capable of accepting graphic images, only plain
text.

The receiving application has to be able to deal with graphics. Notepad
is not one of those applications.

So, Steve, what is being said here is that it is the same, but you have to
open the application yourself, then paste.
